They say that preparation is key
It’s Monday afternoon, and I’ve got some laundry in the dryer, a bunch of random clothes on the bed, and a pile of absolutely-necessary books on the table. The problem now is figuring out what to take and what to leave… I’m simply not willing to pay nearly $100 for two pieces of checked luggage.
I’m getting excited about spending so much time on the road with dad, and feeling a little sad to leave everybody here at home. Charles-Henri slept with me last night, snuggling so close that I disturbed him every time I took a deep breath. (Eventually he ended up on his pillow.) I’m sure he can tell that something’s up; all cats know that when the suitcase comes out, something is happening.
Of course, I’ll also miss my main man Geoffrey and my girl Lillie, and mom’s new kitten Jacqueline. She’s about 8 weeks old, weighs one pound, and is the cutest little black-and-tan striped ball of fluff ever! She is in that play-eat-sleep stage where she’s got oodles of energy for biting and jumping, and then collapses and sleeps for several hours. She’s adorable. I can’t wait to see how much she’s grown when I get back.
OK - enough excuses. Back to packing. Clothes are being finalized, and need to sort my computer case. Coming along!
