Day 6: Pekin, IL to Spirit Lake, IA

Delicious, perfectly-toasted English muffin with apple butter and an ice tea for breakfast today before getting on the road for Barb and Roger’s house in northwest Iowa.

An easy drive, mostly on interstates, but took much longer than I expected; arrived about 6:40 PM. Uncle Gary did us a Mapquest route which suggested the trip would take 6.5 hours. It was closer to 8.5 hours, and I’m dog tired now because my brain was all set to be done at 4:30 PM. (EXPECTATIONS! They’ll get you every time.)

Delicious dinner with Auntie Barb and Uncle Roger, and heading to bed early. Tomorrow going to go shopping for some more short sleeved shirts. (I brought entirely the wrong wardrobe. Sheesh.)
