Day 9: Spirit Lake, IA
First, the most important thing: HAPPY BIRTHDAY to my awesome brother Kevin. (Hope your day is as wonderful as mine.) It was an absolutely gorgeous day here in the northwest Iowa lakes region; about 88 degrees and sunny with a nice breeze. The perfect day to sit on the patio with a glass of ice water and watch the birds come and go in the wide back yard (and sing Happy Birthday over the phone to my brother at work - haha).
This evening, we took a drive down to the Promenade at Arnold’s Park along the water. There’s also a beautiful new boardwalk with stones and trees, and a fountain with a statue of Berkley Bedell, a local fisherman, former Iowa congressman, and philanthropist.
Finally, I’m sure everyone out there has just been sitting on pins and needles waiting to discover the answers to the University of Okoboji 2020 Entrance Exam. (If you haven’t already done the exam, read yesterday’s blog here first.) Spoilers ahead.
